FAITH GROUPS connect believers to God and His family. Faith Groups (previously known as Small Groups) expose participants daily to the Holy Spirit working in the hearts of people and ministries that reach out to men, women and children who are forming who they are and who they will be through the saving grace of God's love. Faith Groups develop believers for ministry and evangelism by teaching do-able actions that fit their lives. Faith Groups invite members to gather around Scripture, prayers of intercession and thanksgiving and, at the end, say: "Wow, we just engaged in the act of witnessing!" And they will be right. Like Peter and John before the Sandedrin, may the people of this church SHARE all they have seen and heard about the love of Jesus because they can't keep it to themselves!
New ideas for Faith Groups ministries are ALWAYS welcome! Please contact Carole Becker in the church office with your suggestions. Below is what is offered at All Saints:
It’s here! A time for mid-life couples to be informed through God’s Word and to celebrate this time of transition in their lives. There’s always a Bible Study and something to snack on while learning and exploring social opportunities to enjoy together.
This faith group meets monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, from 7:00-8:30pm in Room 201 beginning September 20th. Do you have service opportunities to bring to the group where they can share God’s love in the community? This is a strong
aspect of the group’s purpose so feel free to talk with them and to participate with them. It’s “time for us” and there’s room for you!

THE PRODIGAL GOD
In six captivating sessions, pastor and New York Times best selling author, Tim Keller, opens our eyes in the powerful message of Jesus’ best-known—and least understood—parable. The Prodigal God is a revelation of the very heart of the gospel: God’s radical love for sinners of every kind. This DVD-driven study explores questions for group discussion and personal reflection with exercises that will help you experience the truths of Jesus’ parable in your own life.

"From Here...to Eternity"
This year-long study focuses on God's plan for us right from the start. How does Old Testament scripture help us to understand the New Testament, and how does it all fit together to tell the story...the Good News? How does our Lutheran theology reveal itself? What can we learn from our look at some of the Old Testament characters and events? Does this learning have application to our daily lives and faith practices?
Bobbie Tomasek leads our journey through God's plan and how we are to live as His beloved children.
ALL ARE WELCOME!

Lutherans in North America Study
How id we get here and become who we are? This discussion will give today's Lutherans a sense of heritage, identity and continuity, a sense of self-understanding. We will see ourselves, hopes and frustrations of wave after wave of immigrants adapting to the strange new world of America and, at the same time trying to preserve all they had known and loved and brought with them from the homeland. This study points beyond family memories to an ongoing and continuing life of which we and our children are a living part.
Join Pastor Joe Monday evenings, 7-8:30pm beginning Jan. 9th or Thursday mornings, 10:30am-12noon, beginning Jan. 12th. All sessions meet in Room 201.

Gatherings of the Card Group begin with devotions and an opportunity for fellowship. Then the games begin! Participants play hearts, rummy, pinochle, bridge, dominoes, Uno, Boggle, Trivial Pursuit, and whatever other board game you want to introduce to the group.
The Card Group meets the 1st Saturday of the month at 6:30pm and the 3rd Sunday at 5:00pm in the homes of participants. A “potluck” is always part of the fun! All are welcome.
A contribution of $2—$3.00 is requested at each gathering, and these funds are contributed to the life of the Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission in Rock Point, AZ. “Scriptural” and “missional” are two important aspects of each faith group at All Saints.

Congregation Camp is a long-standing annual event at All Saints. Individuals and families head for cooler weather in Arizona, for two nights and three days to enjoy the great outdoors. This is a great time for parishioners to invite their friends and neighbors to participate with us in a weekend that includes activities (or just relax if you prefer!) for all campers. And, if you’ve never experienced worship outdoors in the beauty and wonder of God’s creation, you’re in for a spiritual treat!
The 2011 camp is scheduled for October 7-9, in the beautiful pines by Woods Canyon Lake. We have reserved a spot up at Crook Campgrounds. This site has 26 campsites, for trailers or tents and more than enough room for over 100 campers. There are bathrooms, potable water, a huge ramada area, campsite grills, and picnic tables.
We will have a large potluck dinner Saturday night. Come join us for fellowship in the woods.
Prices are: For the day only, $5 per person or $15 for a family. $30 for the camping overnight. We are excited to see new and familiar faces to camp. Sign up begins Sept. 11 at Fall Kick-Off in Fellowship Hall.

The All Saints Culinary Service creates personalized dining experiences for receptions, parties and special events for the congregation and in other locations.
Culinary’s annual “Nutcracker Sweets” event provides delicious home-made cookies and candies that are beautifully packaged for the enjoyment and convenience of the congregation. Funds received help to purchase important items to support congregation ministries.
You are invited to join in the fun as the group researches, plans, coordinates, designs, learns, shares, laughs, prays and serves our Lord. No experience is necessary! The group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall.

Right here on the All Saints campus every Saturday!!
This ministry distributes mainly PERISHABLE food including dairy, meats, bread and vegetables to folks who have been prescreened and referred by a doctor, Department of Economic Security or a pastor. Recipients are referred to as “needy,” not poor and may remain on David and Goliath’s list for 90 days in order to give them “a hands up.”
All staff at All Saints Lutheran Church are extremely supportive of this ministry. This group is respectful of our property, gracious to those in need and efficient in operation!
Typically, sets up at 9am in Fellowship Hall, but sometimes get shuttled to other areas of the campus, depending on what is going on. Food is distributed from 1 to 2pm.
FANTASTIC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are being asked to do several kinds of tasks.
From 9am to 1pm, Room set-up ♦ Unload food from vehicles ♦ Sort food ♦ Set up clothing table.
From 1 to 2pm, assist those in need to their vehicle.
From 2 to 3pm, clean up room.
Shifts for volunteers can range from
2, 3, 4 or 6 hours.
Please call Joyce at 602-999-4335 or
Heather at 602-595-5340.
Volunteers are asked to meet the same dress standard as the food recipients. The goal is not to offend others, or cause others to stumble. Men must wear a shirt at all times. Women must wear crew neck T-shirts. Even the most modest shirts reveal too much when females are bent over. Both men and women must dress in a way that undergarments are not visible and need to wear closed toe and comfortable shoes. This applies to all teenage volunteers, as well!
Volunteers for picking up food at the Roadrunner Farmer’s Market, Trader Joes, and Whole Food Markets will be trained. Call Joyce or Heather (above) to inquire.
Must have a truck, large van or SUV.
Other needs for this ministry include donations of:
Plastic bags, reusable ice, blue ice, and older coolers even if the lids are broken.
No undue pressure here! This exercise
class is designed to improve strength, flexibility and balance, along with the additional benefits that come from simply keeping moving. All levels of ability are accommodated by the instructor, Bobbie Tomasek, a Registered Physical Therapist. The class meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30—9:30am in the narthex. Members of the congregation and those in the community are invited to join us. Physical fitness builds spiritual fitness! There is no cost to participate!

The internet has made it possible for every-day folks to research and maintain their family trees. All Saints offers a mini-course on the topic of Genealogy on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month beginning in February and continuing through mid-May if the demand is sufficient. The group sessions begin at 7:00pm and meet in Room 203.
PLEASE CALL THE CHURCH OFFICE TO LET US KNOW OF YOUR INTEREST SO WE CAN GET THIS SMALL GROUP SCHEDULED ON THE 2012 CALENDAR.

This group gathers in friendship and fellowship to visit the magnificent outdoor beauty God has created. Most hikes are easy enough for people of all fitness levels. We have an average of 10 participants on each hike typically scheduled monthly from September through June. To see a schedule of hikes (prepared in September annually) or to view pictures of past
hikes, go to:

We normally meet in the church parking area to carpool to the trailheads. Members and their friends are more than welcome to join us!

What’s hooping you ask? “Hooping” is a term for hula hooping with large customized hoops. No matter how ridiculous you think you look, it’s fun to twirl a hula hoop – and modern hoops, due to their different sizes and weight options – are easier to manage than the hoops you might have played with as a child. It’s a low-intensity exercise, so it is good for burning fat. Hula hooping helps with core strength, spine flexibility, co-ordination and tones your waist and stomach. You can also twirl the hoop around your arms, legs and chest to target those areas.”
- Thursday evenings
- Fellowship Hall
- 7:00-8:00 pm
- Hoops provided
- Wear comfortable, stretchy clothes
- Includes warm-up and 20-30 minute “workout” plus tutoring for skills and tricks
Our church library belongs to the
congregation. It provides fiction and non-fiction books to support and enhance the total ministry of the church and to enrich the spiritual, intellectual, recreational and emotional lives of children, teens and adults. The library is open whenever the church is open and all are encouraged to borrow and return books through the “honor system.”
Watch for special displays of books during the seasons of the church year or on secular holidays, created to help you build your resources or to acquaint you with an author. Please visit to see the wealth of written materials available!

This is one of the longest-standing faith groups at All Saints. We share a great breakfast and lively reflection on the assigned Scripture lessons for the coming weekend. Together we come to a better understanding of God’s word. By the grace of God and the great cooking skills of our “resident chefs,” we have seen our group grow and develop into a caring and giving bunch of fellas. Your first breakfast is free! Otherwise, it’s a mere $3.00 and the coffee is always hot!
Excess funds received from our goodwill donations provide support services to our church and community.
The guys meet every Wednesday at 7:00am in Fellowship Hall. Come join us for a mid-week recharging of your “spiritual batteries.”

Are you still actively involved in helping clean up the kitchen or getting the kids to bed at night? Maybe you just need a break after dinner to catch your breath before running off to church? If so, the 8:00pm start time for this Bible Study will work simply great for you! We meet every other Thursday, beginning September 29, 2011, in the Office Workroom. The group currently is working with the Master Builders Bible for Men in selecting areas of study but we always are open to other study ideas. This is not a lecture-style study but an informal and interactive study that encourages input from all participants. It serves as a very comfortable place for men to bond and share their faith. We would love to have you join us as often as possible. All men are welcome!

It’s a Saturday in May each spring...a day for women to gather and get better acquainted with one another, to grow in faith and friendship. We start with a light breakfast, followed by a lovely luncheon that’s always a crowd pleaser! There are gifts and games; there’s music and crafts! And we always invite a guest speaker/devotion leader who has a passion for sharing God’s word, who is motivated to enlighten and inspire! It’s one day set aside to pamper and nurture the women of our congregation and our community. We share our stories and our hearts and learn from one another. Watch this site for the 2012 date and details.
