Caring Ministries at All Saints

Are you in need of care?
Want to care for others?

Our care groups have many ways to support the people of All Saints and those in our community.  In addition to our pastors, we have trained lay people who can make home or hospital visits, including the service of Holy Communion.

  • If you suffer from a debilitating, chronic or life-altering medical condition, the Cancer & Health Support group offers nurturing support, education and discussion opportunities.
  • Stephen Ministers are the “after-care” people, trained to walk alongside of you during difficult life transitions until you are ready to move forward independently.
  • Grief Support is available either through our Stephen Ministers on a one-to-one basis or through our 10-week Good Grief Support Groups, which are offered in the spring and, again, in the fall each year.
  • Answers to your general medical questions, blood pressure screenings, etc. are provided by members of our Parish Nursing program.
  • If you have a loved one that has died, All Saints can coordinate a Memorial Service and Funeral Luncheon on behalf of your family.

To participate in one of these caring ministries or to be a beneficiary of the service(s) offered, please call one of the contact names listed.

Grief Support Group - Coping with Loss

Contact: Carole Becker
When:    Twice per year, contact the church office to next date
Where:   LIFE Building Cafe

The Good Grief Support Group is:

  • A place where people come together to work on and understand the consequences and pain of a life change.
  • A safe place where you can share your story, your struggles, your concerns.
  • A forum where you have the freedom to ask the big questions.
  • A gathering where you can safely search for your own answers, with the support of others.
  • Not a therapy group….but therapeutic!
  • Loving, caring, generous, educational, healing.
  • Very often FUN!

When attempting to describe the depth of emotion we experience when someone we love dies, we struggle to put our sorrow and pain into words and into a context we can understand.  Whether you are recently bereaved or experiencing the pain of long-standing grief, Good Grief is provided to give you the encouragement needed to help you move forward with your changed lives.

10 important weeks! We will gather around the “kitchen table” in the LIFE Building on Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. when Good Grief is in session.  There is no cost to you.  Invite a loved one, friend or neighbor!  Call the church office at 602.866.9191 to say “Thank you; I want to be included.”

This group is open to all who have been affected by cancer or other serious health situations in any way.  If you are coping with, recovering from or a survivor of any serious or chronic health situation or are a care giver, please come and be strengthened by fellowship and prayer.

Our meetings provide an opportunity to share personal health victories and obstacles.  Agenda includes an opening and closing prayer, a brief bible study/discussion of the meeting host's choice, a snack, and an informal update on how people are doing.

Every few months, a special informational  meeting is scheduled to cover a specific topic.  In the past, we have heard more about topics such as Hospice Care, Radiation, and Skin Cancer.  If you want to know more about what the atmosphere of the meetings are like without putting your foot through the door, give one of the contacts listed above a call and they will be happy to provide more information.  If you have a suggestion for a topic, let us know!
