February 21 through March 21
The children in the LSSS program will learn the Easter story and how we all should rejoice and be glad on Easter morning. While the little ones spend most of their focus on Christ's Ressurrection and entry into Jerusalem the older children in DWSS focus on each individual event/day of Holy Week. They start with Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, how Jesus cleared the temple of traders and sellers, Celebrated the Passover Meal with His disciples', was put to trial and died on the cross on Good Friday and finally conquered death with His resurrection on Easter Sunday. Looking intensely at each event helps us to understand more about this week of all weeks in so wonderful it is titled Holy Week. Take time to read the News for Nurturing the Faith newsletter to learn more about each event and attend our worship services this Holy Week with your children, helping them understand why this week is so wonderful and wonderous to our faith.
Safety is important!
All Saints thinks keeping kids and volunteers safe is of utmost importance. Each volunteer involved in the children's Sunday School program is required to complete a Child Protection Program. Sessions are given periodically throughout the year. Please contact Shari Clark or Rendy Horner in the church office to find out more about the Child Protection Program and to determine the date of next program. Parents are encouraged to attend even if you are not a volunteer, you will find the information helpful and could help you know more about keeping your children safe.
Want to learn more about how you can volunteer? Something surely just right for you. Journey with your child, you'll be amazed at what you'll learn and how much YOU will receive as you give of your time and talent!

Mission Statement for Disciples' Workshop Sunday School
Mission of Children's Sunday School at All Saints:
Our mission is to give children the faith stories of the Bible to learn, remember and compare to their own life as they grow. To know the God of today is the same God of Abraham, David, Danial, Ruth, Mary and others of the Bible. To equip children with the Living Word; to know Jesus' love for them and know that Jesus died and rose again so one day they to will live in heaven with our Heavenly Father. To build caring relationships with adults, youth and peers; and to know that they as Christians should share the stories they have learned with others and to invite others to learn the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Classes are taught in "Story Rotations" lasting between 3-6 weeks each. Teaching methods occur through: Art, Bible Discovery, Community Service, Cooking, Games and Theater. Children visit a different workshop each week learning the "same" story only using different senses to discover a different concept about the story they learn.
Stories learn Jan. - May 2010:
Stewardship/Mary and Martha/Zacceheus

6th Grade Spirit begins in January each year for 6th graders. Though our Sunday School program for grades 1 through 6 is exceptional...as 6th graders finish elementary school they are ready for a transistion at church too.
6th Grade Spirit is a great way to help kids learn how to live their faith and understand what it means to be a Christian. It is a stepping stone to get ready for the 3 year confirmation program that is a head of them.
6th grade spirit is:
Hanging out and talking with friends and caring adults
Drinking soda and eating snacks first thing in the morning!
Playing Basketball, Wii, PS2, Ping Pong & other fun on campus
Learning practical ways to apply your faith to your life
Going on field trips (bowling, mini-golf, ice skating)
An all day Lock-in complete with homecooked food, team building while having fun!
6th Grade Milestone and pre-orientation for Confirmation
Begins the first week back to SS in January...you're older and wiser now...no more SS for you, you'll now attend 6th grade spirit as you begin the transition from SS to Confirmation.
"One on One" Sunday School
Some children learn best in a smaller consistant class enviroment...some would benefit seeing the same teacher and shepherds every week! Some children are "born leaders" and would love to share their know-how with other children.
All Saints has a dedicated classroom for children who might learn better in a more typical style of learning enviroment, yet interactive and hands-on...too good to be true? No, All Saints has two very dedicated educators (Mary and Carol ) who devote their gift of teaching to children of All Saints! If you would like to learn more about what this class has to offer your child please contact Rendy. Your child is special, we know that and we hope this class helps them feel that way!
"One on One" is:
During the regular SS hour (9am-10am)
In YO Room 2 (located behind the basketball net)
Follows the same stories as our rotation SS only class curriculm in adapted for the needs of the students
Children enjoy playing, learning and growing in their faith
Children have the same teachers and shepherds all year long so no need to adapt to different teaching styles every week.
