Winter Retreat Re-Cap

Winter Retreat
January 24-26 at Camp Pinerock in Prescott!

God saved you by his grace through faith. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

For we are God’s masterpiece.

God has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:8-10

On the weekend of January 24-26, 16 youth 4 adults from All Saints gathered with 40 youth and adults from Prince of Peace, Desert Cross, Our Saviors (East Mesa/Gold Canyon) and Crossroads Lutheran Churches at Camp Pinerock in Prescott. We had a weekend of snow activities planned, but had to settle for 65ish degree sunny weather; luckily we were all able to bear down and pull through.

We shared lots of fun times up amongst the trees, but our conversation revolved around Ephesians 2:8-10. We talked about our good characteristics, and our bad. We opened up about things we do well, and things not so much. We talked about our pasts and our futures, but mostly about our presents. We agreed that we are where God needs us to be right now, even if we aren’t so sure about it. And we agreed that we are all God’s masterpieces, even though he isn’t finished with any of us just yet.

Donald Wade, our worship coordinator, was at the retreat as an adult leader. When it was time to plan for our worship service, he joyfully watched as the volunteers excitedly planned how they were going to serve when their time came. He did not have to seek out lectors, or ushers, or acolytes or worship assistants, as these roles were quickly filled by willing servants eager to share in their given capacity.

Let us pray that this excitement follows us back to All Saints where we can all live and serve excitedly, as God’s masterpieces.

HIGH SCHOOL BIBLE STUDY (10TH GRADE & UP)

Meets on Sunday at 9:00 AM in YO Rooms 1 & 2

This program is being created to honor our commitment to provide opportunities for youth following the Rite of Confirmation.

Since the majority of our current Sunday school shepherds are 10th through 12th graders, we will need adult shepherds to step into these roles in order that the youth who choose to attend Bible study can do so.  Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to support ALL our young people as they grow in faith!

There is no prep work or Bible knowledge necessary to serve as a shepherd.

Contact Joe Schwartz and Pastor Kristin for more information!!
