Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build Day

Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a 501c3, is made up of volunteers dedicated to building and delivering beds to children currently sleeping on the floor, a couch, a chair, etc.

Each bed delivered to a child comes with mattress, mattress cover, pillow, sheets, blanket and a stuffed toy.  Most items are donated by sponsors, but we rely on individuals for sheets. The Phoenix chapter needs your help to supply twin size sheet sets.

We are holding a drive to collect new twin sheet sets October 17 through November 7. Please deposit in the donation bin in the narthex or at to the church office during the week.

We also have an opportunity to participate in a Build Day on December 11 where the beds are made. Normal hours are 7 am to mid-day. Activities involve cutting lumber, sanding lumber, assembling headboards / footboards / railings and staining lumber. All tools are provided.

Check out a YouTube video of a recent build in Phoenix: https://youtu.be/t-aqifG-KBk

For more information, contact Ron Aspaas or Ginny Alexander. You can also go to https://www.shpbeds.org for more information on the organization.

If you, or someone you know, has a need for a bed, please go to https://www.shpbeds.org and click ‘Apply for a Bed’.
